Location: Maine Lakes Science Center 51 Willett Rd, Bridgton, 04009 

A free workshop, hosted by Maine Audubon, in partnership with the Forest Stewards Guild and the Maine Forest Service will be held on August 22 at the Maine Lakes Science Center at 51 Willett Road, in Bridgton, Maine. Forestry for Maine Birds pairs silviculture the art and science of forest management – with the habitat needs of Maine’s migratory forest songbirds. Participants will learn how to assess forest bird habitat and consider management options that benefit breeding forest songbirds in a variety of forest types. This workshop is for foresters, woodland owners, land trust staff and members, and bird enthusiasts.

Registration will begin at 8:30 am with an outdoor session on the Maine Lakes Science Center grounds starting at 9 am. Light refreshments will be served. This workshop is free, but space is limited.  To register, please contact: Annica McGuirk, amcguirk@maineaudubon.org or (207) 781-2330 x219.
